First World Summit in Africa: Addis Ababa Hosts World Leaders
Addis Ababa will host the first World Summit on July 29-30. Organized by the World Peoples’ Assembly in partnership with African and international organizations, the event will bring together government leaders and representatives, diplomats, businesspeople, academics, journalists, youth, and cultural figures from around the world. The theme of the summit is « A New World: Africa’s Role in Shaping a Common Future. »
« Today, we understand more clearly than ever: the future cannot be built alone. It is born of dialogue, trust, listening to each other, and acting together, » noted Andrei Belyaninov, Secretary General of the World Peoples’ Assembly.
In advance of the summit, the Organizing Committee held a press conference for African media. More than 15 publications participated.
Yanina Dubeykovskaya, Head of the Organizing Committee and Deputy Executive Director of the World Peoples’ Assembly, spoke to journalists about the series of Public Summits the organization holds in various countries and regions around the world to consolidate the efforts of civil society leaders and humanitarian initiatives. The upcoming summit will mark the launch of joint projects among participants, including the international study « Zambezi: Economy, Society, Soul, » which will be implemented in six African countries with the support of Russian experts.
The summit will also include an awards ceremony for the « Leader of Public Diplomacy » award winners, an exhibition of contemporary African art, « Unity, » and a concert at the Adwa Memorial Complex.
The program on July 29 will begin with a series of roundtables and expert discussions on pan-African economic integration, civil society, education, scientific cooperation, cultural diplomacy, and humanitarian partnerships.
The business program will open with a roundtable discussion, « Economic Consciousness: The Missing Horizon of Pan-Africanism, » organized by the international expert club GlobUs. Experts will discuss resource sovereignty, intra-African trade, entrepreneurship, technological innovation, youth economic empowerment, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and the role of education in shaping productive thinking.
The event will conclude with the adoption of an African Communiqué, reflecting a shared vision for strengthening international cooperation and development.
The summit is expected to be one of the most significant international events of 2026 on the continent, strengthening Africa’s position at the center of global discussions about the future.
